The Internet Thinks They've Found Joel Embiid's New Under Armour Logo and it's Interesting
By Tyler Kemp
Sixers star Joel Embiid has been an Under Armour athlete for the last few years of his young NBA career. Being one of the biggest stars associated with the brand, it is only right that UA works on giving “The Process” his own signature shoe in the fall.
In a patent application sent in by the company, it looks like UA is moving forward with giving Embiid his own customized logo for all his personally-branded products, as detectives on NBA Twitter apparently caught a screenshot of the logo on an official US patent application.
There is truly a lot going on here.
This is not the first time that UA has decided to put the athlete’s initials together to make a custom logo; as Stephen Curry has his own“SC30” UA sneakers. There’s just so much happening that it is hard to tell what is what with the logo itself.
If the logo is truly official, basketball fans have already decided to take action for disrespecting Embiid on a branding level.
Perhaps this is just a prototype and not the final product. Perhaps it's a big Photoshop hoax. All told, Embiid deserves the very best given that he's one of the finest big men in the league.
