Intriguing Facts About Eagles Rookie Class Should Pump Fans Up

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a lot of noise in the draft in recent years. Of course, names like Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz come to mind. In 2019, however, Philly drafted just five players, the second smallest draft class in team history.

With that being said, these guys are filled with under-the-radar, alluring facts that should absolutely have Eagles fans pumped for their preseason debuts come August.

Undrafted guard Sua Opeta out of Weber State is a sheer manimal in the weightroom. The 22-year-old managed 39 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press, the most of every player invited to this year's combine. Additionally, only eight players have tallied more reps on the bench in the last 10 years!

Philly, are you ready for your next LeSean McCoy? Fellow second-rounder, running back Miles Sanders of Penn State, was drafted with the No.53 pick -- the exact same pick the Eagles used to draft Shady back in 2009.

Coincidence? We think not.

Of course, the best is saved for last. Per the ever-reliable ProFootballFocus, OL Andre Dillard (the No. 22 overall pick), gave up just one sack in 748 pass-blocking opportunities for Washington State in 2018. He surrendered two sacks in 810 pass-blocking opportunities in 2017. That equates to just conceding three sacks in 1,558 drop-backs during his last two college seasons. Unreal.

Sure, the Pac-12 and the NFL are entirely different monsters, but Eagles fans have every right to be excited for Dillard's imminent presence inside the trenches.
