A Bunch of Crazy Students Rushed the Field During Iowa-Iowa State Lightning Delay
By Karl Rasmussen
Typically when a football game experiences a lightning delay, fans are forced out of their seats and into some shelter within the stadium. Well, security didn't exactly do their job during the Iowa-Iowa State lightning delay.
After security evacuated the field due to hail, some students hilariously rushed the grounds.
Yep, a whole bunch of students have now claimed the field at Jack Trice Stadium, and security is certainly going to have a hard time getting rid of them.
Honestly, props to these students for even staying at the game. The contest has been delayed twice already, and this one looks no closer to being over. Rather than head home and enjoy their weekend indoors, these students stayed to support the Cyclones, and are now taking advantage of the weather by storming the field.
Even when the action is delayed, you truly never know what you'll see at a college football game, especially within a rivalry like this one. Let's hope these diehard fans are rewarded, and that play resumes before long...without them involved.
