The 2019 Kansas City Chiefs' offense, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, sliced and diced their way to the organization's first Super Bowl victory in 50 years. Many have called this the greatest offense they've ever seen. But, don't tell that to 2020 Pro Football Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce.

During an appearance on 1480 HBC in Canton, Ohio, Bruce said the Chiefs can't compare to the 1999 St. Louis Rams' "Greatest Show on Turf."

“I think you have a team every year that we can compare to. This year, it’s the Kansas City Chiefs,” Bruce said in an interview at the Hall of Fame, via Pro Football Talk. “What I’m asked about the Chiefs is, there are some similarities. They’ve got the speed on the outside from a perimeter standpoint. I think we may have been better at the run game than they are. I think our defense was probably a little bit better than what they had.

“But I always say this: From a personnel standpoint, I think we were better and from a mentality standpoint, I think we were better. Because what you see with the Kansas City Chiefs right now is pretty much our spring practices where there’s no tackling allowed. What we had, we went up against a totally different gauntlet — guys were looking to take your head off. It was being promoted.”

Bruce takes things even further, as he said if he, Kurt Warner, Torry Holt and Marshall Faulk played in today's NFL with the current rules, they'd be even greater than they were in the late 90's.

It's interesting to note that when comparing the two squads, the Rams unit is better by leaps and bounds. The 1999 Rams scored a grand total of 526 points on offense, followed by 540 in 2000. Meanwhile the Chiefs tallied 451. Even if Mahomes missed two games due to a knee injury, it's highly doubtful they'd even reach the Rams' record.

This debate will be subject to debate for many years, but Bruce let it be known that the Chiefs couldn't hold the Rams' helmets.
