It Doesn't Sound Good for Chiefs Star Chris Jones Playing in AFC Championship
By Jerry Trotta

UPDATE:
We have conflicting reports, but the most recent suggestion by the likes of Terez Paylor (and others) suggests Chris Jones WILL play.
Still an hour away from a final decision but Chris Jones trending toward being active, I’m told.

The Kansas City Chiefs will need all hands on deck to try and slow down the runaway freight train that is Tennessee Titans tailback Derrick Henry.
Unfortunately for Andy Reid's side, it's looking more and more likely that world-beating defensive tackle Chris Jones will miss Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
NFL Network's James Palmer understands that Jones will test his injured calf during pregame warmups. While that might sound optimistic from the surface, the 25-year-old went through the same routine last weekend and wasn't even close to being cleared to go.
I’m told #chiefs star defensive lineman Chris Jones will try and test his injured calf pregame to see if there is a chance he can go. He did the same last week and he wasn’t even close to being able to play. Not a ton of optimism, but it is the AFC Championship game.

The Pro Bowler was spotted working out with KC at practice on Friday, but that doesn't exactly mean much following this latest update. He's clearly still in a world of pain.
As things currently stand with roughly five hours before kickoff, the Mississippi State product has an outside shot of suiting up. After all, a ticket to Miami and Super Bowl LIV will be on the line at Arrowhead on Sunday.
I’m told Chris Jones is scheduled to work out in 90 minutes. Chiefs will go from there to determine availability.

At this point, he has a shot to play.
To say his absence would be a vital blow to the Chiefs would be a massive understatement.
