It's Truly Unbelievable Other NFL Teams Actually Help the Patriots Get Better
By Jerry Trotta
Can somebody please expound the sheer insanity in other NFL teams trying to help the New England Patriots, who have won three of the last five Super Bowl titles, including six since 2001, get better via trade?
Have these 31 teams not suffered enough from the Pats run that has spanned nearly two decades?
Apparently not, and that notion proved true again on Tuesday morning when it was announced that Atlanta Falcons veteran wideout Mohamed Sanu would be heading to Foxborough in exchange for a second-round pick.
The Patriots have embodied one glaring weakness in the midst of their otherwise perfect start to 2019: their bereft depth at the wide receiver position. The team was practically forced to throw undrafted free agent Jakobi Meyers out on the gridiron in the last two weeks because Josh Gordon (acquired via trade), Julian Edelman, and Phillip Dorsett (who was also acquired via trade) are currently combatting injuries.
And what do the Falcons do? Gift Tom Brady an established veteran WR in Sanu to cope with those aforementioned hardships.
It pains us to say it, but, as it turns out, the league's other 31 teams are NOT in cahoots to see to it that New England's rein of supremacy ends this year.
In fact, it might be other way around, and that's just unbelievable.
