Ja Morant is quickly becoming a household name in Memphis. Morant is putting together a stellar campaign for the Memphis Grizzlies, justifying both the Grizz selecting Ja with the No. 2 overall pick in this past NBA draft and trading former franchise cornerstone Mike Conley to the Utah Jazz. Morant put up 25 points along with eight assists in a narrow 107-106 victory over the Utah Jazz.

The Rookie of the Year award may already have Morant's name on it, if it weren't for the impending return of the No. 1 overall pick, Zion Williamson. When Williamson returns sometime in December, it seems as if these two will be in a battle for the trophy.

Morant, the former Murray State point guard, is averaging 18.3 points-per-game and 5.8 assists-per-game.
Head coach Taylor Jenkins has decided to not rush Morant back from a knee surgery he underwent in June, which is a smart decision in order to reduce the risk of Morant getting re-injured.
The Rookie of the Year candidate will be back in action this Sunday against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
