Sabres Star Jack Eichel Deletes Social Media Accounts Amid Losing Streak
By Sean Facey
It seems like the Buffalo Sabres biggest star is none too pleased with the team's recent woes.
After losing five straight games out of the trade deadline, standout center Jack Eichel has deleted all of his social media accounts, seemingly out of frustration.
Eichel has failed to log a point in each of those losses.
Eichel's displeasure with the way things are run in Buffalo has been well-chronicled, but this recent move to at least temporarily erase his social media presence amidst the team's struggles seems to be a sign that things are reaching a boiling point.
The captain has pieced together a quality season, though, notching 35 goals and 42 assists in 66 games, but his success hasn't translated in the standings. The Sabres' 66 points are good for just 13th in the Eastern Conference, and their overall record ranks just 25th in the NHL.
This type of upfront frustration has characterized Eichel's tenure with the Sabres practically from the moment they drafted him second overall in 2015, and he's as unhappy as ever with their lackluster play.
Now, it looks like the Sabres will be faced with some tough decisions on how to deal with their disgruntled superstar this offseason.
