Regular moments from the past have an ability to stand out as incredibly bizarre when viewed through the lens of the present. One of those moments was shared on Twitter and features Stetson shortstop Jacob deGrom hitting a home run off Florida Gulf Coast pitcher Chris Sale. Wait, what?

deGrom was a shortstop in college before being converted to a pitcher and ultimately being drafted by the New York Mets in 2010. The fact he hit a homer off Sale is its own kind of crazy, but it's even more bizarre it was his ONLY college blast!

Sale was a star at Florida Gulf Coast and was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. That only adds to deGrom's bragging rights about his singular college home run. That home run came with scouts in attendance, most of whom were there for Sale, but ended up seeing deGrom log six innings of work on the mound and also go yard. What a wild turn of events.
