Jadeveon Clowney Situation is the Exact Reason Why the Texans Will Never Be Good

The Houston Texans are now FAR past the point where their troubles from the top of the organization on down can no longer blamed on being a new franchise trying to earn its sea legs in the NFL.

The Texans have had problems with handling stars outside of JJ Watt, with the latest manifestation of that being three-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Not only is Clowney holding out for a new deal, but the Texas, currently operating without a GM, explored trading him to the Miami Dolphins.

Certain organizations simply become famous for dysfunction at the top. The Lions, Browns, and Jets come to mind in recent years. And sadly, the Texans are in that group, too.

Their front office -- which, agian, doesn't even have a GM -- was laughable under the late Bob McNair's ownership. From giving Ahman Green one of the worst contracts in free agent history to drafting busts like David Carr and Amobi Okoye, they made just about every mistake in the book.

When they have had stars like Clowney, they'd seemingly go to great lengths to drive them away. Once upon a time, the Texans had a record-setting offense led by Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson under head coach Gary Kubiak. They won a grand total of two playoff games. That team splintered, but the pieces of that group ended up contributing to winning teams, with Kubiak winning Super Bowl 50 as head coach of the Broncos.

Do the Texans want Clowney to leave? If he decides to depart this clown show of an organization being propped up by the talents of a select few players, than few could hold it against him.
