Jaguars Legend Tony Boselli Reportedly Admitted to Hospital With Coronavirus
By Michael Luciano
One of the most unheralded football legends of the late 1990s and the greatest Jacksonville Jaguar of all-time has reportedly come down with the coronavirus that has changed the complexion of our nation.
Former Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli, the first player ever drafted by Jacksonville, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, according to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman. He was initially admitted to the ICU, but he has since improved.
Boselli's career might have only lasted seven years, but he was a Top 3 left tackle in all of football for basically the entirety of it. Boselli made five Pro Bowls and was named a First-Team All Pro selection three times. Despite the brevity of his NFL career, his dominance over those seven years has led many to believe that Boselli should be named a Hall of Famer. While he has been named a semifinalist several times, a trip to Canton has eluded him.
Boselli is one of a few current and retired players who has tested positive for the virus, and Freeman believes that putting the names of high-profile players and celebrities out there could help convince those who believe the pandemic is not serious accept how grave this can be.
Florida, pay attention here. This disease is even taking on the greats.
If the best defensive ends in the league couldn't beat Boselli for seven years, the virus stands no chance. We wish Boselli and his family nothing but the best as he recovers.
