Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette Reveals He Won't Play in Week 17 vs Colts After Being Listed Doubtful

Leonard Fournette was downgraded to doubtful ahead of the Jaguars' season finale against the Colts, but the star running back took to social media to declare himself out for the game.
Fournette is dealing with the flu, and with the Jags out of playoff contention he will be riding the pine for the final game of the season. He announced the decision via Twitter, in a rather emotional post.
Unfortunately I want be able to play tomorrow due to the flu I have, my brothers know I wish I can ball with them, hopefully I see some of them same faces on my team next year pic.twitter.com/CCrDvz1VE9

In a lost season for Jacksonville, Fournette was one of the few constants for the team, tallying 1,674 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns. Despite his production out of the backfield, the Jags mustered just a 5-10 record.

While the Jaguars as a whole struggled this season, Fournette had a bounce-back season, after missing the majority of 2018 with hamstring issues. Regardless of what the team does this offseason to retool, Fournette has solidified himself as one of the best running backs in the league once again.
He won't be closing out the year with his brothers, but as he stated in his social media post, he's looking forward to seeing the same faces on his team in 2020.
