Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey Traded to Rams in Massive Deal
By Scott Rogust
The Jalen Ramsey drama is finally over in Jacksonville.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped the bombshell of all bombshells, reporting that the Jaguars have traded Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for two first-round picks (landing in 2020 and 2021), and a fourth-rounder in 2021.
Somewhere in the middle, haul-wise. Not five firsts, but no pittance, either.
This certainly explains why the Rams traded cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens earlier on Tuesday, all while Aqib Talib is on the injured reserve.
Ramsey demanded a trade from Jacksonville after Week 2, due to (his words) things said about him behind the scenes from figures in the front office. Ramsey has yet to play since Week 3, due to a lingering back injury (real or not) and the birth of his second child.
So, will Ramsey play this weekend for Los Angeles? That remains to be seen, considering his reported injury issues. But hey, a man can dream.
While the move won't help the Los Angeles Rams' offense, Jalen Ramsey is an immediate upgrade over the scuffling and aging Peters. Just like that, the Los Angeles Rams defense added another superstar alongside Aaron Donald to help compete in the NFC West.
