After No. 8 Georgia's 24-17 win against No. 6 Florida on Saturday, the Bulldogs inched ever closer to a coveted College Football Playoff berth, as they solidified their spot as at least a top three team in the SEC, behind Alabama and LSU.
However, because of their close loss against South Carolina two weeks ago, the Bulldogs are most likely still knocking on the door of the playoffs.
Odds to win CFB Playoff:
— Barstool Bets (@barstoolbets) October 30, 2019
Clemson +175
Alabama +250
Ohio State +300
LSU +800
Georgia +2000
Oklahoma +2000
Penn State +3300
Oregon +5000
Florida +10000
Who are you putting your money on?
Even so, anything is possible in the landscape of college football. If Jake Fromm can lead the Bulldogs to a dominant finish to the season, and one of the top-ranked teams somehow loses a game at all, the Bulldogs may find themselves in consideration for a playoff spot from the CFB committee.

They still have plenty of competition from their fellow one-loss teams, including Oregon and Oklahoma, but a huge win today over Florida will see the Bulldogs move up the NCAA rankings and into the minds of voters.

If the CFB Playoff committee truly claims to look at the full resume of each contending team, they'll weigh Georgia's victory over Florida highly within the context of rankings, and perhaps it might push them over the edge at the end of the season.
It's up to Georgia to stay as a one-loss team. Only then will they have a shot at a playoff berth.
