Jake Fromm Heads to Bills in 5th Round With Enormous Chip on His Shoulder
By Jerry Trotta

It was never expected that Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm would be selected within the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, almost no analyst predicted that the Bulldogs star would endure a fall of this magnitude.
Fromm's extended wait to hear his name called mercifully came to an end in the fifth round (!) when the Buffalo Bills used the No. 167 pick on him.

With the pick comes a profound sigh of relief from Fromm, who was forced to watch a pair of gunslingers -- Jacob Eason (No. 122 to the Indianapolis Colts) and James Morgan (No. 125 to the New York Jets) -- get picked before him on Saturday.
While Fromm's accuracy is undeniable, perhaps his best qualities are his personality and leadership. Not being able to meet with NFL scouts and draft reps due to the coronavirus pandemic deprived him of the opportunity to showcase them. Couple that with his forgettable Combine performance, and it's easy to see why he fell so far.

In Buffalo, Fromm will compete for the No. 2 spot behind starter Josh Allen with Matt Barkley and Davis Webb. Given that he dropped to the fifth round, the Georgia product will carry a tremendous chip on his shoulder during that process.
