No Quarterback Should Ever Throw at the NFL Combine Again After Seeing What Happened to Jake Fromm
By Michael Luciano
Thought to be a lock for a Day 2 selection before the 2020 NFL Draft, former Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm slipped until the fifth round of the draft, as the Buffalo Bills ended his slide by making him the 167th overall pick and the expected backup to Josh Allen.
Let Fromm's slide be a lesson to all quarterback prospects. Unless you are a Day 3 pick, DO NOT throw at the NFL Combine.
Fromm's athleticism and arm strength were major concerns surrounding his stock, but they were amplified when he showed off a below average arm.

Rather than focusing on his three productive years at Georgia or his accuracy, teams saw the questionable arm strength as the defining attribute of Fromm as a pro prospect, which helped him become just the eighth quarterback taken in this draft.
Fromm was destined for a Day 2 selection after a productive college career, but a poor showing in Indianapolis cost him a LOT of money and a chance to realistically compete for a starting job early in his career. No wonder all the top guys have figured out that throwing at the combine is a complete waste of time.
