Jake Fromm Rookie Contract Details With Bills Revealed
By Mark Powell
Jake Fromm fell to the fifth round of the NFL Draft thanks in large part to a lackluster combine performance, where the Buffalo Bills were happy to select him with the No. 167 overall pick.
Fromm has plenty to prove behind Josh Allen in Buffalo, and he'll compete for the backup spot come training camp. But first, the Georgia product had to put pen to paper, signing his official rookie deal with the Bills.
That's a solid payday for Fromm, who's already proven to be an expert marketer at the Draft, when he revealed a sponsorship deal with Buffalo Wild Wings.
In Buffalo, he'll be expected to learn the offense quickly behind Allen, who frequently puts his body on the line in the open field. It's not misleading to suggest that Fromm is -- quite literally -- just one play away from being thrust into action. Allen's style of play makes that likelihood even higher.
From the unquestioned leader in Athens to fighting for a roster spot in Buffalo, Fromm's world has turned upside down in just a few weeks. At least he's got a hefty contract to cushion the fall.
