Eagles' Jalen Mills Owns Former Packer TJ Lang With Perfect Nick Foles Take
By Sam Dunn
The Chicago Bears made headlines when they dealt for Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles. The decision came on the heels of their inability to sign Teddy Bridgewater in free agency -- or perhaps wait things out and swoop in for Cam Newton. Among those who didn't understand the decision? TJ Lang, a retired Pro Bowl lineman who clashed with the Bears as a member of the Packers and Lions.
He couldn't understand why they went for Foles instead of finding a way to get Newton to Soldier Field. That's when Jalen Mills, who played with Foles during the Eagles' famous Super Bowl LII title run, jumped in with a poignant observation.
Well, you can't argue with that!
Sure, just about anyone with functioning neurons will tell you that Cam Newton is better at football than Nick Foles. He's got a league MVP award, was a No. 1 overall pick, and once led the Panthers to a 15-1 season and an NFC title. But #CountTheRings is a real thing, and Jalen Mills wants everyone underestimating Foles to read 'em and weep.
Well played, Jalen. That's the kind of quarantine banter that football fans need.
