The Los Angeles Rams have made a number of blockbuster trades over the last few seasons, and now one of those acquired star players is lobbying for the team to go after one of the NFL's best defensive backs.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded a disgruntled Jalen Ramsey to the Rams last season in exchange for a slate of future draft picks, but he thinks LA's secondary could use another upgrade.

As soon as Ramsey realized their last names practically spell out, 'LA RAMS,' he knew it was meant to be. Lions defensive back Darius Slay, who becomes an unrestricted free agent after next season, quote-tweeted Ramsey and joined in on the fun.

With 24 interceptions and a pair of first-team All-Pro selections between them since Ramsey joined the league in 2016, the acquistion of Slay would solidify the Rams' secondary as the league's best. Slay said it best himself, it would not be fair.

Slay has been with the Detroit Lions since they drafted him in 2013, but his breakout season came in 2017 when he recorded a career-high eight interceptions and 26 pass deflections.

Despite both players expressing interest in creating what would be a fearsome cornerback tandem, it seems unlikely to come to fruition given the Rams' cap situation. With Ramsey set to hit free agency, and make huge money when he does, it's unlikely the team could afford to pay both. Still, it's scary to think what those two could accomplish playing opposite one another.
