VIDEO: Jarvis Landry's Comments on Struggles of 2019 Browns Pretty Much Assess Blame on Freddie Kitchens
The Cleveland Browns were supposed to be a team of destiny in 2019. Instead, Freddie Kitchens was fired after one 6-10 season in which the entire offense regressed -- under the man who was the offensive coordinator the previous year. Star players Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry clearly weren't used properly and the latter basically called out Freddie Kitchens in an appearance on ESPN's First Take as indirectly as one could.
Landry saying the team lacked a true identity is a major indictment of Kitchens' lack of leadership. He was seen fighting on the sidelines with Landry on several occasions, and the lack of proper game-planning explains why the offense looked lost so often last season.
The Browns had too much talent to collapse the way they did and the players did their best to not call out Kitchens publicly during the season. Landry addressing the lack of game-planning is about as direct as he can be without name-dropping.
Landry is now hoping Kevin Stefanski will establish an identity right away after a wasted 2019 campaign.
