The Jarvis Landry Trade With the Browns Turned Out to Be a Disaster for the Dolphins
By Michael Luciano
Adam Gase not only limited Jarvis Landry to serving as a bubble screen merchant during their tenure with the Miami Dolphins, but he also gave him away for next to nothing when he tired of him.
Landry, who was coming off of his third straight Pro Bowl season, was traded to the Cleveland Browns in a move that still gets Dolphins fans upset.
Landry was traded for a fourth-round pick in 2018 and a seventh-round pick in 2019. The fourth-rounder later became Carolina Panthers tight end Ian Thomas, while the seventh-rounder was used to select Washington running back Myles Gaskin, who ran for 133 yards on 3.7 yards per carry last season.
Landry, meanwhile, has been a stud for Baker Mayfield over the last two seasons in northeast Ohio. Landry has made the Pro Bowl in both of his seasons in Cleveland, as he tallied 164 catches, 2,150 yards, and 10 touchdowns. Landry is yet another player who is reaching his full potential as soon as he leaves Adam Gase.
While Miami appears destined for a very bright future, having a player like Landry who can act as a safety valve for Tua Tagovailoa would be appreciated at this point in time.
