Jarvis Landry Posts Cryptic Tweet That's Got Fans Worried About Potential NFL Lockout
By Sean Facey
The NFL has been kicking around a proposal for a new collective bargaining agreement, but it seems as though it has hit a bit of a snag. The Players Association's executive committee chose to vote against the new CBA, putting the possibility of a lockout on the table.
Things aren't looking good based on player reaction either. Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry only heightened fears of a lockout by suggesting that fans start locking in on the XFL.
For all of the entertainment that the XFL has provided, that's probably the last thing NFL fans want to hear right now.
Many players' response to the proposed CBA has been characterized by distaste. Few seem keen on adding an extra game to the schedule while also giving the owners the majority of the revenue.
The possibility of a lockout has been lurking for some time now, though progress on the new CBA initially seemed to suggest that it would be avoided.
However, based on how players like Landry have reacted on social media so far, there's a good chance that football will take a hiatus following the expiration of the current CBA at the end of the 2020 season.
