Jason Garrett All But Literally Throws OC Kellen Moore Under the Bus for Cowboys' Late Failed Drive
By Thomas Carannante

The Dallas Cowboys disappointed yet again, failing to defeat a team with a winning record in their loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
But the game was very winnable. The Cowboys had the ball with under five minutes to go and trailed by four points. Dak Prescott orchestrated an 11-play, 80-yard drive, but fell short when the team turned it over on downs.
A big point of criticism from Monday Morning Quarterbacks today is that the Cowboys made a mistake running the ball on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 2 before failing to convert on fourth down. Head coach Jason Garrett is catching heat for it, but he tried his best to make it known offensive coordinator Kellen Moore signed off on the run plays.
Jason Garrett on @1053thefan on the two run plays late: “Kellen’s calling the game. In that situation it’s 2nd and 2. He felt like he had a good opportunity against a favorable box to run the ball in those situations. On each of those plays we had options beyond just the run.”

We don't want to say that's directly throwing somebody under the bus, but that's pretty much doing your best without getting blood on your hands.
Fans are very much aware there were other options, in terms of the playcalling. Maybe defending your offensive coordinator is the better look, considering it's not hard to argue that attempting to get two yards on two carries with arguably the best running back and best offensive line in the NFL makes a pretty good case for your decision-making.
Dak Prescott: “If we get that first down, nobody in here is even talking about that they took the ball out of my hands. ... We just have to execute those plays. Those linemen would say that, the running back would say that, the whole team would say that.” https://t.co/gYfcZxFcGf

Dak gets it.
We'll be out here all day for the fourth year in a row listening to Cowboys fans talking about how Garrett needs to be fired, and they have yet another example of why it should've happened years ago.
