Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has had a rough string of injuries of late, though surprisingly, the incidents haven't occurred on the football field.

According to ESPN, JPP won't be returning to action until at least November after suffering a fractured vertebra in his neck in a car accident back in May.

JPP may be missing the first few months of the 2019 season, but to put things into perspective, the linebacker was expected to miss the entire season when the fracture was first discovered.

In his first season away from the Giants, Pierre-Paul led the Buccaneers in sacks last year with 12.5. JPP matched his 2017 solo tackle mark with 48 last year as well.

This offseason injury is the second Pierre-Paul has sustained, with the first coming as a result of a fireworks accident on 2015's Fourth of July. The two-time Pro Bowl selection had his right index finger amputated four days after the incident.

Pierre-Paul is still a valuable part of Tampa Bay's defense, and here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery and enjoys sustained health going forward.
