Jasson Dominguez's MLB The Show Rating Should Have Yankee Fans Pumped About the Future
By Jerry Trotta
The New York Yankees' farm system oozes All-Star talent, but it's fair to say that the club has never boasted a prospect quite like outfielder Jasson Dominguez.
Scouts have tabbed him one of the most hyped international prospects ever, and the Yankees bought into that hype, signing him for $5.1 million out of the Dominican Republic last summer. That is now the richest international contract ever.
Well, it would appear that creators of "MLB The Show" also think highly of the 17-year-old, as he is already rated as a 72 overall.
That's a thing that just shouldn't be possible for somebody who is hardly old enough to get behind the wheel of a car without supervision. I guess there's a reason folks call him "The Martian."
After all, it's not often one player draws comparisons to Mickey Mantle, Bo Jackson, and Mike Trout all at once. Prior to Dominguez's existence, you'd have to be made in a lab to be compared to those three all-time greats.
Dominguez still has a ways to go in terms of developing across the minor league ranks, but he's a five-tool player in every sense of the word, and projects to be a superstar. Yankees fans have every reason to be excited about the future.
