Jay Cutler to Return to Soldier Field for Bears-Packers Opener
By Kevin Aquino
Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will be making a return to the stadium he called home for eight seasons when the Bears host the Green Bay Packers on NFL opening night.
Cutler was Chicago's quarterback from 2009 to 2016 before spending the 2017 season with the Dolphins. The 36-year-old then retired and has spent the last year enjoying his new life as a reality TV star.
In addition to spending more time in and around Chicago, Cutler said he would tune in to NFL action more often than he has in the past year. The Indiana native did say he was watching the Bears' heartbreaking playoff loss to the Eagles last season.
Cutler will be enjoying next week's game as a fan, and from a perspective he's never had before.
“Just kind of going to go as a fan and watch the game and enjoy it,” Cutler told the Chicago Tribune. “I’ve never really watched a game from the stadium from that view. So it’s going to be fun. I’m looking forward to it.”
Cutler was a 2008 Pro Bowl Selection as a member of the Broncos and was named first-team All-SEC at Vanderbilt in 2005.
