VIDEO: Jay Williams Has Remarkably Poignant Reaction to Kobe Bryant's Tragic Passing
By Sean Facey

It's hard to find level footing following a pair of deaths as devastating as those of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. Trying to draw meaning out of anything just feels impossible. But while speaking on SportsCenter, ESPN analyst Jay Williams delivered an incredibly emotional reaction that found some of that lost meaning.

"Let that [expletive] go," said Williams while talking about the trivial problems that people face in the daily workings of life. "It doesn't matter... This is about life and being precious with every damn second we have here."
And Williams is absolutely right. We rarely (if ever) take the time to pause and appreciate the incredible gift of life as it's happening. It's tragedies like these that serve as a stark reminder of how things can be unfairly cut short in an instant.
It sure makes basketball seem quaint or even irrelevant by comparison.
"I respectfully disagree with the league's stance. I think we should not be playing games today. I know I could lose my job for saying that but it is what it is. I just feel like this is one of the greatest ever seen to do this. That's who we lost today" - Jay Williams on ESPN

Kobe and Gigi were taken from the world far too soon. They both had so much left to give, and it's just not fair that neither will be around to give it. If we take anything from the tragic events of the day, may we heed Jay Williams' words and remember what's truly important -- and do a better job of casting aside what isn't.
