Jaylen Brown Blasted the Celtics for Their Dysfunction Last Season

The Boston Celtics saw several important roster pieces find new homes in Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Terry Rozier, and Marcus Morris during this summer's free agency. This begs the question: Why would so many players leave the Celtics given their ostensible contender status?
Jaylen Brown can shine some light as to why that might be, noting the sheer weight of the bad vibes within the organization last season.

With all the talented players on Boston's roster, allocating the minutes that each player "deserved" was not the easiest request to accommodate. This resulted in guys like Terry Rozier and Marcus Morris taking a back seat in the rotation and increasingly sulking over it. Not only did this negatively impact these individual players, but the team as a whole. Eventually, the unrest and dysfunction became impossible to hide.

"Last year, honestly, I can’t see it being any worse than that. Coming out, being positive is everybody’s mindset."

Now, Brown and the Celtics will be pushing nothing but positivity heading into the 2019-20 season. They must learn from old mistakes and build a culture that is better structured for success in the NBA for the long haul; if the drama really is over, that can only mean good things for the C's.
