VIDEO: JD Martinez and Giancarlo Stanton Team up on 'Late Late Show' to Surprise Couple Who Postponed Wedding
Countless weddings are being postponed around the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and late night host James Corden decided to offer up an awesome surprise to one of his staffers who had to put his marriage on hold. The bride is a Boston Red Sox fan and the groom, who works for Corden, is a New York Yankees fan. Yet they found a way to make it work, and Corden surprised both with video messages from stars of their favorite teams on Tuesday.
First up was Red Sox star J.D. Martinez, who said he will be at the wedding whenever it does take place. I'm sure the couple will hold him to that promise. Then, from the other side, came a message from Giancarlo Stanton, who expressed some concern about not being invited to the bachelor party -- but don't worry, he'll get over it.
This was an awesome surprise from everyone involved, and Corden revealed at the end that the couple will attend a Yankees vs. Red Sox at Fenway Park and sit in the owner's box, whenever they're able to. Kudos to everyone involved for taking a bad situation and providing some positivity during such tough times.
