Jed Lowrie to Finally Make 2019 Debut After Being Activated by Mets
By Parker White

I guess it's better late than never, right?
Jed Lowrie hasn't played a single game for the New York Mets because of a knee injury and subsequent ailments to his hamstring calf he picked up while rehabbing.
Well, at long last, Lowrie is back to full health, and the Mets activated him off the injured list on Saturday.
The Mets just activated Jed Lowrie from the injured list. He's ready to make his season debut.

When the Mets signed the All-Star infielder this offseason, they were hoping to add a versatile player to the top of their lineup, making their team that much deeper. That obviously didn't come to fruition, but he has an opportunity to end the season on a high note and get some at-bats under his belt before next year.

Lowrie's age (35) is concerning, but when healthy he's proven to be a productive hitter. In 157 games with Oakland in 2018, Lowrie slashed .267/.353/.448 with 61 extra-base hits (23 home runs) and 99 RBI.
If they get even a fraction of that in 2020 it's a win for this team, who could definitely use another offensive threat to go along with Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, J.D. Davis and Michael Conforto.
