Jeff Sessions Takes Ruthless Shot at Political Opponent and Former Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville

Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is running for Senate once again in his home state of Alabama. His top GOP competitor is former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville, who has a projected lead in the polls.
The race is getting heated and Sessions demanded Tuberville agree to take part in five debates. The coach declined and Sessions responded with a ruthless take on Tuberville's coaching career.
If watching you coach taught me anything @TTuberville, it’s that you’re no good at sitting on a lead. That’s why you finished 5-7 and 4-8 in your last seasons at Auburn and Cincinnati. If you are too weak to debate, you do not deserve to represent the people of Alabama. https://t.co/3Jdt8XC2mG

This is a bizarre exchange that could only take place in modern times. Two potential U.S. Senators are going at it on Twitter and Sessions may not realize he potentially upset a lot of Auburn fans in the state he is trying to represent. The former coach's account has also gone at Sessions plenty of times.
It is time to put an end to @JeffSessions public service. @realdonaldtrump cannot trust him, and we know super liberal @DougJones is not what Alabama needs. Help me put an end to this at https://t.co/tI8VCQtaq1. #FireSessionsAgain #MAGA https://t.co/PDSYRO7OVn

Sessions' facts were not wrong. But Tuberville did have plenty of success at Auburn and led the Tigers to five bowl wins between 1999-2008. Alabama Crimson Tide fans may love the banter, but Auburn fans are likely not amused.
