VIDEO: Jeopardy Contestant Answers Jackie Robinson Question Brutally Wrong and We're Collectively Embarrassed

Sports fans may be watching a lot of Jeopardy! to get their fix of competition at a time when all major leagues are on hiatus. A sports question even showed up in a recent episode and the answer was one of the more obvious of the competition. Yet, one contestant taking part in the College Championship missed terribly when the answer was...Jackie Robinson.

This is one of those clips that is almost too uncomfortable to watch. Thinking Babe Ruth broke baseball's color barrier is almost comical, as is the confidence in which she answered. The buzzer was hit immediately and it is almost shocking that Alex Trebek didn't have a chuckle.

Luckily, someone with basic knowledge of American sports history was there with the obvious right answer. To make matters worse, this was aired on Jackie Robinson Day.

Answers like this one prove that some people are completely oblivious to anything sports-related. That is fine, but that doesn't make it any easier to watch. The contestant representing USC only adds to the humor of the situation, as Robinson played a good portion of his career in California.
