Jerry Jones Compares Dak Prescott to His Son in Awkward Moment for Stephen Jones

The negotiations between Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys organization are starting to get a little strange.
Prescott is undeniably a Super Bowl caliber quarterback, but Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, sees him as more than just his franchise player. Jones views Prescott on the same level as his own son, Cowboys VP, Stephen Jones.
Jerry Jones is so committed to keeping Dak Prescott as the team’s QB that he just compared him to his son, Cowboys VP Stephen Jones: “(I feel) the same I feel about Stephen. There’s no going forward without Stephen or one of your family members. You got to figure it out.”

Stephen Jones is going to feel some type of way when he hears about that.
The Cowboys and Prescott are in a sort of limbo status with contract negotiations. Prescott has been playing on a bargain rookie contract, and rejected an offer last season that would reportedly pay him $33 million per year.
There is little to no doubt that Prescott will return to the Cowboys for the 2020 season. Both parties want to find an agreeable long-term contract, but if they cannot reach one by the March 12 franchise-tag deadline, the Cowboys are likely to tag Prescott to prevent him from hitting the open market.

"He's our guy."
There is absolutely no way that Jones allows his second son (not actually his child) walk away from his family (if you consider a sports organization a family). We're not sure we can keep up with this metaphor. In the meantime, Stephen and Jerry should make signing Dak long-term their top priority.
