Jerry Jones Denies Report That Cowboys Met With Urban Meyer
By Ian Anderson
Even though Dallas Cowboys' head coach Jason Garrett technically has not been fired yet it seems to be inevitable that he'll be out of a job by the end of the season.
Former Ohio State Buckeyes' head coach Urban Meyer has been heavily linked with the Cowboys' head coaching job, with recent reports suggesting the team went as far to meet with him about it. However, owner Jerry Jones has come out and said that these latest rumors are false.
Despite Jones' claims, it would surprise absolutely no one to see Urban Meyer in Dallas come Black Monday.
Meyer himself came out and said that he would be interested in being the Cowboys' head coach. He'd be an intriguing option for the team, but then again it seems any staff besides the current one would be better.
Meyer retired from coaching after the Buckeyes took down the Washington Huskies in last year's Rose Bowl, but could be looking to get back into the game.
Some are voicing their concern over Meyer considering he's never been a coordinator during his college days or coached in the NFL.
While these concerns may be valid, you need to remember that Jason Garrett is the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys which makes Meyer more than qualified to succeed him.
