Jerry Jones Deserves Just as Much Blame as Jason Garrett for Cowboys Failures
The Dallas Cowboys have now lost three straight and four of five after a weak performance against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night. This loss will make Jason Garrett's seat even hotter.
It is up to Jerry Jones to make big changes and he must also understand he is part of the problem. What is going on right now with this team is unacceptable.
Jones is loyal to Garrett. That is plain to see. But enough is enough and Jones needs to set his team up for success for the rest of 2019 and beyond.
The problems aren't just on offense either. Thursday night saw the Cowboys give up 31 points to a Chicago Bears offense that had only eclipsed the 30-point mark once this season. That came against the lowly Washington Redskins.
There is just too much talent on the Cowboys right now to be playing so poorly. Jones can understand that Garrett is a good football coach while also realizing his team needs a new leader.
Jones is in a bit of a conundrum because the Cowboys are still set up to win the NFC East. Yet the team is in a free fall and it may not be worth it to keep Garrett around, only to get embarrassed in the playoffs.
It feels like Garrett is already on his way out. That is no secret. Jones needs to step up and act fast so the Cowboys can move forward. The current circus going on in town must end and fast.
