VIDEO: Jerry Jones Was Literally Left Speechless by Oklahoma LB Kenneth Murray's Pre-Draft Interview
By Scott Rogust
This year's NFL Draft is going to be one for the ages. The traditional process by which teams hold in-person interviews cannot happen this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but luckily, teams can still talk to prospects through video conferencing. Interestingly, there's only been one team that has shown its fans their specific interview procedures as of this time: the Dallas Cowboys. Days after their pre-draft discussion with Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Cowboys' official Twitter account showcased their interview with his teammate, linebacker Kenneth Murray. During the interview, owner Jerry Jones asked Murray about a setback or challenge that helped him grow as a player. Murray described the blessing of helping his parents raise three adopted children with special needs, a response that left Jones speechless.
You might have assumed that it was impossible to silence the talkative Cowboys owner, but the day has finally arrived.
Murray is a highly-touted prospect in this year's draft, not only for his play, but for his character. Given that he's the oldest sibling in his family, his parents leaned on him to help around the house. That, in turn, helped him become a true leader of Oklahoma's defense.
In fact, his leadership is one of the qualities that makes him a potential first-round selection.
Whether it's the Cowboys or one of the other 31 organizations in the NFL, whoever selects Murray is going to not only get a quality player, but a quality human being.
