There is a lot of anxiety around the Dallas Cowboys related to running back Ezekiel Elliott and his increasingly long holdout as he waits for a new contract. Owner Jerry Jones, however, doesn't seemed the least bit phased by these negotiations.

During the team's annual kickoff luncheon, Jones promised the crowd that the "one" player who is missing will be back on the field in time for their Week 1 matchup against the Giants.

This seems like an unusually calm stance to take, as the optics surrounding this negotiation are about as messy as can be.

Dallas has been unwilling to give into Zeke's demands (being the highest-paid player in the NFL at his position), which makes sense given the fact they still have to pay the likes of Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper.

Since then, it's been nothing but name-calling and jokes, which isn't necessarily the best way to handle a contract with your superstar running back who has expressed a willingness to hold out until he gets a new deal.

Hopefully for the blood pressure of everyone in the state of Texas, Jones will make good on his promise.
