Jerry Jones may be a little out of touch in the eyes of many NFL fans, but one thing that can't be denied is his business acumen. While he doesn't always get results from the talent on his roster, his ability to navigate the rigid restraints of the salary cap for the Dallas Cowboys is exceptional, and he once again showed that talent with his latest signing.

Jones was able to pull off the signing of Anthony Brown for only $33 million over three years, a move that becomes more impressive after realizing teams could have driven up the price tag. With the departure of Byron Jones to the Dolphins, retaining the talents of Brown became a necessity to the Cowboys offseason plans, rather than just an option.

Brown has been a solid corner throughout his time in Dallas, and the veteran presence would have been a valuable commodity for anyone looking for secondary help. That Jerry Jones was able to keep Brown around, even after splashing on Ezekiel Elliott (last offseason), Amari Cooper, and tagging Dak Prescott is a testament to the work the Dallas owner does in balancing the books.

While they surely lost some talent, that's a necessity of paying the team's best players. Give Jones some credit for maintaining the status quo as much as he possibly could.
