With the NFL celebrating its 100th season, many fans and pundits are looking back at some of the greatest players at each position. When thinking of the greatest wide receiver in league history, Jerry Rice instantly comes to mind.

Rice, known for his great footwork, was asked on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" who currently possesses that trait. The answer was simple: New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman.

“You’re not going to be able to cover him,” Rice said of Edelman, via NBCSportsBoston.com. “You can’t do it. He’s going to be able to get separation from you and make the catch.”

Rice wasn't done complimenting Edelman, as he also praised his willingness to sacrifice his body by running routes up the middle of the field.

While Edelman has nowhere near the statistical feats of Rice, they do share one thing in common, they are two of seven wide receivers to ever win the Super Bowl MVP award.

Through nine games this season, Edelman has caught 63 of the 90 targets thrown his way for 663 yards and four touchdowns.

Hearing these comments from the greatest wide receiver of all time, Edelman will no doubt play with some added motivation throughout the remainder of the year.
