Jerry Seinfeld Teases 'Seinfeld' Reboot and Tempts Us All With Pete Alonso Tweet

While the New York Mets failed to make the postseason for the third consecutive season, the faithful that fill the seats in Citi Field were rewarded this season with the play of rookie Pete Alonso.
On Saturday, Alonso hit his 53rd homer of the season, officially breaking the MLB rookie home run record previously held by New York Yankees star Aaron Judge.
Mets fan expressed their gratitude to their new face of the franchise, including comedian Jerry Seinfeld. In fact, he teased a reboot of the famous "Seinfeld" sitcom, just so he can include Alonso in a new version of "The Boyfriend," which once upon a time featured Keith Hernandez.
Don't tempt us, Jerry! You don't even have to be a Mets fan to want a return of the hit comedy show.
For those who haven't been blessed enough to watch this episode, we'll give you a history lesson. Jerry meets his idol, Mets legend Keith Hernandez, and tries to befriend him. In the process, Jerry eventually sets up Hernandez on a date with Elaine. As a result, Hernandez spends more time with Elaine than Jerry, irritating him.
And, oh yeah, Kramer and Newman accuse Hernandez of spitting on them from the bushes behind Shea Stadium, something Alonso could definitely have done...or blamed on Jeff McNeil. That damned Squirrel...
If anyone is up for filling the shoes left by Keith Hernandez, it's Pete Alonso. And we're totally on board for a "Seinfeld" reboot. This tweet is a dream, beginning to end.
