Jets' Daryl Roberts Has NSFW Response for Fans Who Called Out Team After Loss to Dolphins
By Chris Pyo
The New York Jets are spectacularly flaming out as their 2019 season continues to get worse than ever expected. It's gotten so bad that even Jets players themselves are going to war with their rabid fanbase.
This time, it's cornerback Daryl Roberts who's utilized social media to air out his grievances with Jets fans who were calling out the team after their dismal performance against the previously-winless Miami Dolphins.
What Roberts' fails to realize is that he's still playing in a New York market that prides itself in having one of the most extreme fanbases in the country. Jets fans might be used to watching horrid performances on the field, but that doesn't mean they don't want the team to win, and when you suck, they're going to tell you that straight to your face.
Can anyone blame Jets fans for going through existential crisis after crisis every Sunday, especially after what they just suffered through?
Roberts himself isn't having too flashy of a year. According to Pro Football Focus, he entered this past Sunday ranked 65th among cornerbacks in Pro Football Focus’ ratings. That ranking definitely had to have dropped a couple of places after his shoddy performance.
The thing is, diehard Jets fans will always be behind the team through thick and thin, even after Roberts inevitably departs from the team, whenever that might be.
