Jets LB Darron Lee Deletes Tweet That Seemed to Be Throwing Shade at Mike Maccagnan
By Parker White
The New York Jets made headlines on Wednesday when they stunningly decided to fire GM Mike Maccagnan, who spent the last four seasons at the helm.
While some are critical of the timing of this news, ultimately most aren't upset to see Maccagnan hit the exit door. Even Jets linebacker Darron Lee is feeling good this morning, having sent out a rather cheerful tweet just after the dismissal of Maccagnan.
Lee sent this tweet, which read "Good Afternoon everybody!" after Maccagnan was canned. He quickly deleted it, but this would suggest that he took kindly to the news of the GM being fired.
Of course, it's hard to blame him. The Jets linebacker, who Maccagnan drafted in the first round back in 2016, was expected to be traded or released after his fifth-year option was declined. Perhaps the change in management will enable him to stay in New York.
There's a chance this tweet was fired off without realizing what had just occurred within the organization, but the timing is certainly suspicious, to say the least.
