VIDEO: Jets QB Sam Darnold is Growing a Creepy Mustache During Quarantine
By Michael Luciano
Staying at home due to the coronavirus is not only making us a bit stir-crazy, but it's taking a toll on our preferred style due to the fact most barber shops are currently closed down. This unfortunate side effect of this public health crisis has clearly taken a toll on New York Jets starting quarterback Sam Darnold, who rolled up to a Q&A session sporting an unsettling mustache that he needs to shave off as soon as possible.
A skull cap with a pencil-thin mustache is not the look that most would try to pull off, even during a quarantine setting.
The Jets are no stranger to their quarterbacks having great facial hair, as Ryan Fitzpatrick set the bar pretty high when he was still in town. Darnold has quite a long way to go before he gets close to Fitzpatrick's level.
Darnold, who had problems with "seeing ghosts" last year, completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,094 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. In a year where the young QB needs to step up big time for Adam Gase, Darnold has gotten his 2020 offseason off on the wrong foot with this puzzling fashion choice.
