Jimmy Butler's Latest Tweet at Chad Johnson Suggests He's Definitely Signing With the Heat
By Jerry Trotta
Two separate reports dropped on Saturday which indicated that the Heat, Rockets, Lakers, Nets, and 76ers -- should they choose to re-sign him -- are the categorical favorites to land impending free agent Jimmy Butler.
Miami has always been enticed by the idea of bringing the four-time All-Star aboard as they were one of the few teams aggressively pursuing the former Marquette star when he was forcing his way out of Minnesota last offseason.
Well, if Butler's latest reply to Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson on Twitter suggested anything, it's that the Heat's longtime ambitions are about to come to fruition.
Of course, Miami doesn't currently boast the necessary cap room to go out right and sign Butler to a max contract -- something we know that the 29-year-old is pursuing this summer.
Therefore, general manager Andy Elisburg would have to devise a potential sign-and-trade with Philly GM Elton Brand.
And if you didn't think that Butler's reply to Johnson wasn't convincing, Dwyane Wade's Tweet from Saturday absolutely hints that he might know something about Jimmy's future that the rest of us don't.
No, Twitter activity doesn't corroborate anything and free agency has proved to be an impossible monster to predict. But, as of right now, Butler seems enticed to take his talents to South Beach.
Could a Woj or Shams imminent confirmation be in the works?
