Butler's departure in the offseason led many to scratch their heads considering he was turning down a bonafide contender for a middling Heat team. So why did he leave Philly?
It seems like we'll never know. Butler said "something happened" in regards to the talks with the 76ers but he wouldn't reveal what it was.

The Heat star was very open regarding numerous topics in this interview with "The Athletic," but wouldn't get into details regarding his split with the 76ers. That has to have Philly fans boiling considering they're still upset with him for leaving after it appeared he was a good fit and a key missing piece.
All 76ers fans can do now is take solace is running the Heat off the court and hopefully have Jimmy feeling left out come playoff time.
