Jimmy Garoppolo hopeful he can play on Sunday

For the San Francisco 49ers, it's up in the air who will end up leading the offense out onto the field this weekend against the Houston Texans. Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with a thumb injury, but he's hopeful he can still play.

Jimmy G missed practice on Wednesday, though, and his status for Thursday is up in the air. If he can't make the start in Week 17, SF will turn to rookie QB Trey Lance.

49ers fans are calling for Lance to start, as they want to see what the rookie is made of. We'll find out come Sunday who gets the nod.
