Jimmy Garoppolo Looks Exactly Like Old-Time Hollywood Hunk Named Tyrone Power
By Jackson Thompson
Jimmy Garoppolo's play in the Super Bowl fell short of matching 49ers great Joe Montana, but his good looks are still right up there with another past legend in the practice of being handsome. A tweet by The Athletic's Molly Knight revealed that Garoppolo shares an eery resemblance with the late Tyrone Power, a former Hollywood actor that made his name as a lead man in a number of romance movies from the 1930s through the 1950s.
Okay, if Garoppolo has to be somehow related to this guy, there's no other explanation.
Knight points out that it was her grandmother who made the comparison, who recognized Power from his time as a premier actor. While Garoppolo pursued a different career, he has a striking resemblance to Power. Perhaps he should take a shot at acting when his football career comes to an end.
It's worth noting that Garoppolo and Power both hail from the Midwest. A five-hour drive across Indiana would take you from Garoppolo's birthplace of Arlington Heights, Ill. to Powers' birthplace of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Garoppolo may not have had the poise to carve his name into San Francisco lore with a Super Bowl win, but he can take solace in knowing that his good looks were the topic of household debate across the country.
