It was long overdue, but we can finally say that former NFL coach and executive Jimmy Johnson will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

When we watched a tearful Johnson learn of his election to Canton during a FOX broadcast in January, everyone wanted to know which famed football legends he'd ask to participate in his induction later this year. Johnson coached some truly great Cowboys teams before finishing his coaching run with the Dolphins, but we were all left in suspense about who would get the call -- until now.

Thanks to a curious fan bugging Johnson on Twitter, the 76-year-old announced Sunday that Super Bowl-winning quarterback Troy Aikman will welcome him to the stage on induction day, while FOX co-host Terry Bradshaw will help him slip into his Hall of Fame jacket.

Johnson could have summoned a number of football heroes to help honor him in Canton, but Aikman and Bradshaw make a ton of sense. I mean, how could it not have been Aikman after his emotional reaction to the initial news earlier this year blew up into a meme?

It took a while, but Johnson is officially Hall of Fame-bound. Now, all that's left is his induction into Dallas' Ring of Honor.

Waiting on you, Jerry.
