Houston Dash attacking midfielder and United States international Kealia Ohai, who happens to also be the fiancee of Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt, was traded to the Chicago Red Stars over the weekend.
Houston's local ABC affiliate's story about the trade, however, referred to Ohai merely as "JJ Watt's fiancee" in its headline and associated tweet. It should be clear to all why that headline shouldn't fly in 2020, and Watt responded to it by calling out the fact Ohai was not mentioned by name despite the fact she has been one of the Dash's best players over the last few seasons.
This headline is trash.

Kealia Ohai (which is her name by the way, since you didn’t even bother to mention it) is incredible entirely on her own merit and deserves to be treated as such.
Be better than this. https://t.co/82GMrYOv9U
The headline was later changed after Watt's response, but ABC13's tweet containing the original wording remains up.
Ohai will join a Red Stars team that finished second in the nine-team NWSL last year. In Chicago, Ohai will be notably team up with American international and Red Stars defensive midfielder Julie Ertz, the 2019 US Women's National Team Player of the Year and wife of Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz.
Mr. Kealia Ohai and Mr. Julie Ertz both cheering on the Red Stars.

You love to see it. #NWSL #MKOT
Ohai has accomplished far too much in her own right to see her accomplishments diminished by simply get tagged as "JJ Watt's fiancee." Good on Watt for taking ABC13 to task over it.
