The Houston Texans pulled out a close 27-24 win over the Oakland Raiders, but it came with an incredibly high price.

Star defensive end J.J. Watt confirmed the reports that his season is over, sharing a heartfelt message to his Twitter followers.

Watt suffered the injury in the first half of the Texans' victory. He was initially ruled questionable to return to the game, but that ruling was downgraded to out once the second half began.

He's set to undergo an MRI on Monday as the Texans look to further assess the severity of the injury, but his tweet suggests that he won't be back on the field in 2019.

Watt's been notoriously injury prone throughout his career. The five-time Pro Bowler missed major time in the 2016 and 2017 seasons with various season-ending injuries, and he may have just suffered another one today.

This is a tough break for Watt and the Texans, who moved to 5-3 on the year with a potential playoff spot on the line. We'll see if the Texans defense can hold up without their premier pass rusher, especially after trading Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle.
